For many, Labor Day is just a BBQ. For Catholics, it is a chance to reflect on the Dignity of Work. Jesus spent 30 years as a carpenter (tektōn). He had calluses. He sweated. He sanctified manual labor.
Prayer for Labor Day
Lord God, Master of the Vineyard, we thank you for the gift of work. Help us to see our daily tasks not as a burden, but as a way to serve our brothers and sisters and to build your Kingdom.
Prayer for the Unemployed
St. Joseph the Worker, look upon those who are seeking employment. Open doors that are shut. Give them confidence and patience. Help them to find work that supports their families and honors their dignity.
Prayer for Stress at Work
Lord, when the emails pile up and the deadlines loom, grant me peace. Help me to work diligently but not anxiously. Remind me that my worth comes from being your child, not from my productivity.
