The O Antiphons — Ancient Codes for the Messiah

If you sing "O Come, O Come Emmanuel," you know the O Antiphons. They are short prayers recited before the Magnificat during Vespers in the final week of Advent.

The 7 Titles

1. O Sapientia (Wisdom) - Dec 17
2. O Adonai (Lord) - Dec 18
3. O Radix Jesse (Root of Jesse) - Dec 19
4. O Clavis David (Key of David) - Dec 20
5. O Oriens (Rising Sun) - Dec 21
6. O Rex Gentium (King of Nations) - Dec 22
7. O Emmanuel (God with Us) - Dec 23

The Code

Take the first letter of each Latin title in reverse: Emmanuel, Rex, Oriens, Clavis, Radix, Adonai, Sapientia. ERO CRAS. Translation: "Tomorrow, I will be there." The monks who arranged this were geniuses.
