Fatherhood is a vocation. It is a path to holiness (and a path to the Cross). On Father's Day, don't just give him a tie. Give him the spiritual support he needs to lead your family to heaven.
1. Prayer to St. Joseph (For Protection)
St. Joseph, Guardian of the Redeemer, protect my family as you protected Jesus and Mary. Help me to provide for them, defend them from danger, and lead them in virtue. Make me a father after the Father's own heart.
2. For Patience (When Kids are Screaming)
Lord, give me the patience of Job and the gentleness of St. Francis. Help me not to provoke my children to anger, but to discipline them with love and self-control.
3. For Spiritual Leadership
God the Father, help me to be the priest of my domestic church. Give me the courage to lead prayer, to bless my children, and to witness the faith to them by my actions, not just my words.
4. For Work
Lord, I offer you the labor of my hands. Sanctify my work. Let it be a means of providing for my family and serving the common good. Help me to work with integrity and to rest with gratitude.
5. Blessing for a Father (To be prayed by the wife/kids)
Heavenly Father, bless [Name]. Strengthen him with your Spirit. May he be a loving husband and a wise father. Reward his sacrifices and grant him peace in his heart. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
