St. Paul was in prison, chained to a Roman soldier. He looked at the soldier's armor and saw a spiritual lesson.
The Armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18)
- Belt of Truth: Holds everything together. Without truth (doctrine), your pants fall down.
- Breastplate of Righteousness: Protects the heart. Living a moral life (State of Grace) is your best defense.
- Shoes of the Gospel of Peace: Readiness to move. Evangelization.
- Shield of Faith: Extinguishes the "flaming darts" (lies/temptations) of the Evil One.
- Helmet of Salvation: Protects the head (mind). Hope in Christ keeps you from despair.
- Sword of the Spirit: The Word of God. This is the only offensive weapon. Jesus used Scripture to fight Satan in the desert.
The Strategy
The devil is a lawyer. He looks for loopholes (unconfessed sin, unforgiveness, occult practices). Rule #1 of Warfare: Close the doors.
- Go to Confession.
- Forgive your enemies.
- Get rid of any New Age objects.
Suit up. The battle is real. Find warfare prayers on the MyPrayerTower app.
