A lot of Catholics get their theology from Left Behind movies. Here is the problem: The Rapture is not Catholic. (The idea that Jesus will secretly snatch believers away before the tribulation was invented in 1830 by John Nelson Darby).
The Catholic Timeline (CCC 675-677)
- The Great Tribulation: The Church will pass through a final trial that will shake the faith of many.
- The Antichrist: A religious deception offering men an apparent solution to their problems at the price of apostasy. It will probably be a humanitarian, secular messianism.
- The Second Coming: Christ returns once, visibly, in glory.
- The Resurrection of the Dead: Everyone gets their bodies back.
- The Final Judgment: Sheep vs. Goats.
- New Heavens & New Earth.
We don't get "Left Behind." We get "Left Through." We suffer with Christ to reign with Him.
