Of all the promises Jesus made to St. Margaret Mary, the 12th Promise (The Great Promise) is the most specific and the most powerful.

"I promise you in the excessive mercy of my Heart that my all-powerful love will grant to all those who shall receive Communion on the First Friday of nine consecutive months the grace of final penitence."

In plain English: You will not die without the Sacraments. You will make it to heaven.

The Requirements

1. Mass and Communion

You must attend Mass and receive Holy Communion on the First Friday of the month. Note: If you are in a state of mortal sin, you must go to Confession first.

2. Nine Consecutive Months

You cannot skip a month. If you get sick or forget in Month 5, you have to start over at Month 1. Why? It tests perseverance and fidelity.

3. Intention of Reparation

You must offer your Holy Communion with the intention of making reparation to the Sacred Heart for all the insults, sacrileges, and indifference He receives in the Eucharist. You are loving Him for those who don't.

Why Fridays?

Friday is the day Jesus died. It is the day His heart was pierced. The Church has always marked Friday as a day of penance.

Checklist for Success

  • [ ] Set a recurring alarm in your phone for the Thursday before First Friday.
  • [ ] Check Mass times (many parishes have evening Masses for workers).
  • [ ] Go to Confession the week before.
