Burn Brighter
Ignatius calls usto go forthand setthe world on fire.
We embrace this metaphorbecause we believeour purposeis inextricably linkedto helping othersclarify and attain theirs.
But how do weset our world on firein this age of sickness, uncertainty, and fear.
How do weserve and leadwhen weare disconnectedfrom each otherand the physical spacethat unifies our team.
Who will show ushow to press on?
Lives perishwhile the flamesof leadersaround usdance erraticallyin the blisteringwinds of changetheir lightsflickerto near extinctiontheir sparksbarely visiblestruggleto light the way.
We cannot waitfor themto lead.
Let us turnto our Godandto the sacred lightof the Holy Spiritthat burnsineach of us.
Let our spiritsdraw closerto each otherin spite ofthe distancebetween usand march boldlyinto tomorrow.
Maybe it helpsto imaginethis timeas a dousingof gasolinetossed onto ouralready steadyburning flamesofpurpose and love.
Let this accelerantconsume and quicken usfor the greater good.
Shine onmy friendsmay the bright flamesof our spiritsburning in unisoncreate a bonfirethatsparks hopeignites faithilluminates loveand lights the way.
In this uncertain agea time whenour brothers and sistersyearn forpeace and lightwe are calledand stand readyto do magisto do morethan we didbefore.
Toburnbrighter.
Amen.
