SALFORD-FOLDENS PASTORAL CHARGE

Be the first to review

Mission StatementWe are a family oriented focal point of the community who attempt to nurture and strengthen the Christian way of life.
We believe that we are not alone, we live in God’s world.
We belive in God: who has created and is creating, who has come in Jesus, the Word made flesh, to reconcile and make new; who works in us and others by the Spirit. We trust in God. We are called to be the Church; to celebrate God’s presence, to live with respect in Creation, to love and serve others, to seek justice and resist evil, to proclaim Jesus, crucified and risen, our judge and our hope. In life, in death, in life beyond death, God is with us. We are not alone. Thanks be to God.

Christian Education
Sunday schools for all ages is provided at Salford church. Teaching children the stories of our faith is primary. Some youth activities are planned. Salford Church sponsors the Salford Scout group. Foldens’ Sunday School sponsors one child in a developing country.

The Women’s Groups (the UCW) consist of one unit in Salford and one in Foldens. These groups raise funds for the church and community by hosting meals and other fund raising events. Some of their many projects are the Woodstock Food Bank (Operation Sharing, Ingamo Home (Second Stae Housing or victims of domestic violence, help in the ‘Soup Bowl” etc.

The Salford Church Choir sponsors special evenings of musical
ministries and with some help from the Foldens’ choir, performed a wonderful Christmas Cantata past Christmases.

We are a welcoming pair of United Churches in the Ingersoll/Woodstock area and invited you to come and share in our communities. We would be happy to see you.

If you would like any furher information about our churches and the work we do, please contact our secretary, Terry Coventry at (519) 485-1689 or leave a message on our answering machine.

God Bless!
