SAINT PAUL LUTHERAN CHURCH (LCMS)

Welcome to the page of St. Paul Lutheran, Pana

Greetings in the name of the Triune God.

Saint Paul Lutheran Church of Pana, Illinois is a confessional and liturgical congregation of The Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod serving the community and surrounding areas of Pana, Illinois. The center of our life together in Christ is the Divine Service of the Word of God and the Holy Supper, the biblical and ancient pattern of churchly life (Acts 2:42). St. Paul, Pana strives to maintain its confessional and liturgical commitment to the doctrine and practice of the Lutheran Confessions, since they are fully biblical. At the same time, St. Paul Lutheran of Pana remains fully committed to the outreach of the gospel in our community and beyond. We believe and confess that confessional commitment, sound liturgical practice coupled with a zeal for outreach belong together and are in no way contradictory.

We cordially invite you to join us for a Bible Study or to hear God’s Word in the Divine Service soon. Instruction in the faith is available for those who want to become a Lutheran Christian or who want to learn more. The Lord be with you.

Rev. John A. Frahm III, pastor
St. Paul Lutheran Church (LCMS), Pana, Illinois

DIVINE SERVICES AT ST. PAUL LUTHERAN, PANA
Currently in our Divine Services we are using The Lutheran Hymnal (1941) and Hymnal Supplement 98 (CPH, 1998). The Lord’s Supper is gladly celebrated every Sunday. During most of the year we also offer a spoken form of the Divine Service on Wednesday evenings.

At St. Paul Lutheran Church, we also observe the biblical and historic practice of altar fellowship (closed communion) as well as the usual ceremonies which accompany the historic liturgy. Again we hold that the historic doctrine and practice of the church goes hand-in-hand with a commitment to outreach, which involves repentance and faith. Understanding what a great treasure we have by grace, we seek to confess that before the world.

During Advent and Lent midweek Vespers services are also observed. We heartily welcome visitors to come and hear God’s Word of law and gospel and to enroll in catechetical instruction to learn more of our Scriptural confession and way of worship and most of all our Savior Jesus Christ and the free gift of eternal life in Him alone. We confess and teach that we are saved by grace through faith for the sake of Jesus Christ and His death and resurrection.

Getting to St. Paul Lutheran Church of Pana:
Pana may be reached by Highways 51, 16, or 29. The church is located at the corner of Fourth St. and Kitchell, just off of Hwy 51 (also known as Poplar Street).
