Early African MethodismThe African Methodist Episcopal Church has a history which is both unique and glorious. It is unique in the fact that it was the first major religious denomination that sprung from sociological rather than theological or doctrinal concerns, in the western world. It was the response to the “Africans” need for self expression and full involvement in the service of the Worship of God and society as a whole. It was the answer for a people seeking recognition as human beings of dignity and self-respect.

ALL ARE WELCOMEDSlave Richard Allen founded the African Methodist Episcopal Church in 1787 in Philadelphia U.S.A. Our Motto: “GOD OUR FATHER-CHRIST OUR REDEEMER-MAN OUR BROTHER” He was born a slave on 14th February,1831. During the course of his turbulent life as a Christian, he attended St George’s Methodist Church, Philladelphia, but in 1787, he along with Rev. Absolom Jones, and other slaves withdrew from this church, because of unkind treatment, and restrictions placed upon them. We are seeking those willing to commit themselves to the Integrity of the Holy Scriptures and the love of God and to their fellowman. All are welcomed each Sunday at 1.30PM.
