About Brazilian Catholic Church(ICAB)Brazilian Catholic Church or Igreja Catolica Apostolica Brasileira (ICAB)is an Independent Old Catholic Church in communion with Patriach of Brazil.Roman Catholic Bishop Carlos Duarte Costa founded this church on July 6,1945 after he was excommunicated ad vitando by Pope Pius XII unilaterally.Duarte Costa did not want to leave the Roman Catholic Church. however,Because of his criticism of the policy of Pius XII on issuing passports to German war criminals-Nazi i.e.Adolf Eichmann and Josef Mengele,he was silenced and later excommunicated.
As Authentic Catholic Bishop,he continued his ministry in this Brazilian Church while maintaining an orthodox catholic faith outside the jurisdiction of the Pope of Rome.Hence,This Brazilian Church is not part of Roman Catholic Church but remain Catholic.A Roman Catholic might be Catholic but not all Catholics are Roman.Thus,The term Catholic,which means universal,should not be limited or become exclusive to Roman Church.
As a Church,its Apostolic Succession comes from Petrine Apostolic line thru Bishop Duarte Costa himself(Rebiban Succession).Yet in the Philippines,its apostolic lineage also comes from Andrew(Russian Orthodox lineage)thru St.John Maximovitch,Russian Orthodox Bishop of Shanghai,China and Ofiesh,Bishara and Zuk Russian Orthodox Succession.
The Brazilian Catholic Church,as a member of Standing Episcopal Conference of Orthodox Bishops-SEC, adheres to the teachings of the Holy Scripture,Nicene Creed and Seven Ecumenical Councils.ICAB has 12 Million members in 13 Contries.
Patriarch Luis Fernando Castillo Mendez succeeded Duarte Costa after his death.Patriarch Luis Fernando assigned Bishop Forest Ernest Barber in the Philippines.When Bishop Barber died,Bishop Harold James Donovan(Aftimios II) succeeded him.On 1996,Bispo-Primaz Dom Harold James Donovan died and was succeeded by Dom Joseph V.Galaroza up to present.

Parish Priest ProfileMsgr. Rogelio Del Rosario Martinez,Jr.,CSC(Congregation of St.Charles of Brazil)was ordained priest on April 12,2003 by Bishop Galaroza in Church of the Resurrection,Dona Faustina, San Bartolome,Novaliches,Quezon City. He Holds three Academic degrees-Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy(1992)at Immaculate Conception Major Seminary in Bulacan;Master of Arts in Pastoral Ministry(1997)from the same Seminary and Bachelor of Laws(2004)at Harvardian Colleges in San Fernando City,Pampanga.Aside from his Sacramental Ministry,Msgr.Roger is also teaching Philosophy in Centro Escolar University,Malolos.He is a Human Rights Advocate.
