HOPE EVANGELICAL CHURCH

Be the first to review

What is a Church?we are a small Bible-based church, a group of believers who seek to apply the principles laid down by Paul in 1 Cor 14; 26, Col3; 16 and Eph 5; 19.
We ask the questions:
When you meet together, who reads the scriptures?
Who chooses the songs?
Whose responsibility is it to correct a brother with gentleness?
Gal 6; 1

The Bible asserts that these things are the responsibility of everybody. It is not the perogative of one person to “Lord it over” the others, as Jesus says, “you are all brothers” Matt 23; 8.

We believe in elected Elders who are “the servants of all”,taking all authority from the Word of God.

We practice verse by verse Bible study and door to door evangelism every week.We also meet every Monday at Starbucks,in Borders Bookshop Peel Retail Centre, Stockport. We believe in the example of Christian living and pursuit of holiness and love shown by such people as William Booth, John Wesley,Hudson Taylor and William Tyndale; and encourage all christians to read the works and doctrines of these good men.
