FAITH MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH

Be the first to review

Our MinistriesWe are a small, but G-R-O-W-I-N-G congregation. Our congregation consists of mostly older people, but we are seeing more and more young families come in! Our congregation is sometimes half deaf and half hearing and the unity has been amazing. Anyone and everyone is welcome to Worship with us.

We are a praying, caring bunch and trusting God to use us to His honor and glory. We are attempting new outreaches into the community and pray that God will give our church favor in the sight of our neighbors.

We have a Sign Language lesson in our Morning Worship service. The congregation is currently learning to sign the Bible verse: John 3:16. This tears down the language barrior between hearing and deaf and truly allows us to Worship God as ONE unified body.

We have a ministry in one of our local Nursing Homes each Sunday afternoon. Those dear people cannot get out to Church, so we bring Church to them. It is alot of fun!

The Lord started a Deaf Ministry on October 1, 2006! What a joy to see deaf people coming and raising their hands in praise to God. We are all thrilled to have deaf people worshiping God with us. We now have a Deaf Sunday School class, as well as interpreted Church service Sunday morning and evening.

We have special Concerts every month having a Fifth Sunday. We bring in well known music groups and advertise well so the neighborhood will know that there is LIFE in our little white Church. The concerts are a good source of encouragment to our faithful people who can sit and worship with the message in song. We call these special service a Concert of Praise!

We also make sure there is an article in the local newspapers each week so people can read what is going on at FMBC. We trust the Lord will bless these articles to His honor and Glory.

Pastor Ken and Bonnie have been trying to take alot of pictures of the various events since they arrived in July of 2005. They keep a “Visual Diary” of our happenings each month and share them once in a while. It is designed to be a source of encouragment to our people so they can SEE that things are moving along, we are ACTIVE, and ministry is going forth from this Body of Believers.

We also enjoy getting together and singing to those who may need a bit of cheering. We go Christmas Caroling, Easter Heralding and Birthday Blessing to our shut-ins. A real joy!

Prayer Requests1. Pray that we will truly become burdened for our lost family members and neighbors, and take action to see that they HEAR the Gospel.

2. Pray that we will be a people of prayer.

3. Pray that we will become eager students of the Word of God.

4. Pray that Pastor Ken will stay true to the Word in his life and in the pulpit. Pray that his words will be BOLD, but wrapped in love.

5. Pray that we will be Doers of the Word and not Hearers only. There are so many hurting people, so many lonely people, so many unsaved people and time flys so quickly. Pray that we will be people of ACTION and not just words!

6. Pray for the protecion for our country, our military, their families and our missionaries. Pray for our President and all of those in authority over us.

7. Pray, if it would please God, to help us obtain hearing devices for our elderly hearing folks. It would greatly benefit many of our people to hear the Word of God better. We ask that you join us in prayer for this ministry tool.

8. Please pray that if God would be honored by having us use powerpoint more effectively, that He will make a way for a Projector and screen system – or a large flat TV. Pray that we will be patient until we have them (smile.

9. Pray that God would CLEARLY show us HOW to landscape the outside of the Church building to have eye appeal that would please Him.

10. Pray that we will be bold witnesses for Jesus, with a life to match our words, so that many will come to know our LORD as Savior and Lord.

DEAF PEOPLE

DEAF PEOPLE ARE INVITED TO COME ANY TIME.

Deaf people may sit anywhere in the Sanctuary they want as they will be able to see the Interpreter from any location. We promote UNITY, not segregation, although deaf seem to enjoy sitting together as if they are a choir of hands praising our LORD. Placement is totally up to the individual.

“Where the SUN shines outside, and the SON shines inside!”
