Ascension Lutheran ChurchThank you for visiting our site! Ascension is a Missouri Synod congregation formed in 1964. We are located in northwest Huntsville at 3801 Oakwood Avenue NW, Huntsville, Alabama 35810, between Memorial Parkway and Jordan Lane. The church may be reached by fax at (256) 536-8104. Our worship services are held Sunday mornings at 8:00AM and 10:45AM, and Monday evenings at 6:00PM. During the Lenten season, we hold Wednesday evening services at 6:30PM, preceeded by a light meal in our Fellowship Hall at 5:30PM. Sunday School classes for children and adults are offered at 9:30AM. Our pastor is Bernard Ansorge. He has been the pastor of Ascension since 1969 and lives here in Huntsville. Also on staff are our Director of Children’s Ministries, Kathy Kiehl; Ginger Casteel, our Music Director; and Emily Maas, who serves as secretary in our church office. In addition to our worship schedule, Ascension offers many areas for involvement and fellowship. We have a primary ministry, our Ascension Lutheran Child Development Center, detailed below.

Ministry of Ascension Lutheran ChurchAscension Lutheran Child Development Center was begun as Ascension Christian Day Care in 1979 at the church. It serves children and their families between the ages of 6 weeks and 5 years (Pre-K). The congregation recently called a new DIrector of Children’s Ministries, Mrs. Kathy Kiehl to lead this ministry.
