Be the first to review

Mission & Brief HistoryThe Mission of the African Methodist Episcopal Church is to minister to the spiritual, intellectual, physical and emotional, and environmental needs of all people by spreading Christ’s liberating gospel through word and deed.
The Windhoek Presiding Elder District was organised as one of three districts in the Namibia Annual Conference during the late 1950’s. Outstanding leadership was provided by the late Rev. Johannes Jacobs and the Rev. B G Karuaera who took over as Presiding Elder in 1975. It is the fastest growing district and is also called the “capital district” since it includes and was administered from Windhoek, the nation’s capital. It consist of at least 10 churches with 5 itinerant elders, 2 itinerant deacons and 3 licentiates for its 13 000 strong membership.
Rev. B G Karuaera has been the founding member of the ecumenical Council of Churches in Namibia, which he has served for many years as Executive Board member and later as President. He is the senior Presiding Elder in the Namibia Annual Conference.
