Ordinary Time — Why Green?

Christmas is over. Lent hasn't started. Welcome to Ordinary Time. It's not 'boring.' It's about growth.

"Ordinary" doesn't mean boring. It comes from the Latin ordinalis (numbered). We count the weeks (1st Sunday, 2nd Sunday...).

The Color Green

The liturgical color is Green. It represents:

  • Hope: Like spring shoots.
  • Growth: This is the season to grow in your daily spiritual life. During High Feasts (Christmas/Easter), we sprint. During Ordinary Time, we run the marathon. It is where the real work happens.

Keep growing. Don't stop praying just because the tree is down. MyPrayerTower app.
